2003-05-26 19:50:37天 堂 之 梯□編按：4月28日是國際工殤節，從4月28日起，＜蜂報＞增闢＜英雄木棉花＞之新版，定期於每星期一與星期四，分別刊出兩則台灣工殤者（因職業災害而致死者）的真實個案故事，以紀念台灣的工殤英雄，並引發台灣社會對工作傷害的省思、重視與預防。
331大地震那天，父親正在高台工作，強烈的搖晃令他從高處墜落，又被掉落的吊車撞擊在地，當場死亡。據說，父親屍首支離破碎，全身都呈黑色。 印象中，父親總在外面，每個月他回來一、二次，通常也是匆匆看了家人就又離開了。早期他和母親曾合開過麵包店，後來經營不善收了起來。這幾年來，父親一直過著「逐工作而居」的生活，工地在哪裡，他人就跑到哪裡。加上母親患了精神方面的疾病，三個弟弟還在唸書，他的經濟負擔就更加沉重了。 父親走後，起初家人無法接受，弟弟們變得異常自閉，放學回家就守在電腦前面玩遊戲，彷彿只有這樣才能忘掉爸爸離世的痛苦。而患病的母親卻把客廳裡的遺像收了，好像她根本不承認父親已經不在似的。而我沮喪之中，也只能茫然面對這樣的事實，在還沒做好心理準備的情況下，就要扛起這個家庭責任了。 我也知道，要不是331地震被視為重大社會事件，也不會得到這麼多注意吧？但是，整個事情的處理卻還是沒辦法讓我們家屬滿意。如今，我看著漸漸為人淡忘的事故現場，ＴＡＩＰＥＩ-101，台灣第一高樓，富人的天堂之梯，卻是用五位勞工的性命換來的。那閃耀的光芒，是父親鮮血的代價！ 口述 陳聖翰（亡者兒子）
