2003-06-21 23:25:40許我一個家！（二）轉載：＜台灣立報＞之＜921災區民眾史＞
隨著年齡增長，當完兵的父親，就以開計程車維生。幾年後，在偶然巧遇下，認識了母親。 民國六十八年，父母結為連理，隔年生下大姊。由於多了一張嘴，父親也逐漸加長開計程車的時間，希望能多賺一些供應家裡開支。當時母親只是個美髮學徒，所以，能貼補家用收入並不多，為了經濟問題，不敢馬上再生育第二個孩子。直到三年後，家計略為寬鬆，才懷下二胎。 雖然生活還是清苦，但還算撐得過去。沒料到，產下二姊後2個月，母親又懷孕了。為了這個意外的天使，父母左右為難，傷透腦筋，最後還是不忍心，決定要生下來。父親經濟大責又要因此加重了，但是，也難掩喜悅心情。 民國80年左右，在政策放寬與台灣經濟普遍富裕下，購買轎車不再是有錢人的專利，自用轎車與公共交通系統逐漸普及化，加上開放計程車營業名額的管制－以前要加入計程車並非自由無限制，越來越多人以開計程車維生，使得島內的計程車行業市場趨於飽和。在無法承受惡性競爭的衝擊下，很多同行不得不放棄這項職業，轉換人生跑道。 在大時代的轉輪下，我父親也於民國83年準備轉業。豈知，轉業就是失業，父親一直未謀得穩定的頭路，只好被迫從事臨時工，臨時工是「錢少、事多、離家遠」的「壞息頭」，就算願意屈就，也要老天保佑，才能一個月做滿25天。因此，家裡大部分開銷變成母親一人支撐。 為了創業、賺錢持家，母親身體在民國八十年左右就有走下坡的跡象。剛開始，只是出現了一些小毛病。但是，在不能拋開手邊事業，又無法長期待大醫院好好檢查的情況下，健康惡化狀況一天比一天的嚴重了。雖然，明知再這樣拖下去，後果不堪設想，但是，一想到她去就醫，誰來扛起家計與小孩們的求學所需？ 為了避免母親累垮病倒，大姊狠下心放棄了學業，但是為時已晚！民國86年，母親卻仍然無預警地被病魔打敗了！爸爸帶著母親到了榮民總醫院檢查，結果竟然還出乎我們想像之外－由於長期操勞，醫生證實母親罹患惡性的子宮頸癌！乍聽到此一噩耗，猶如晴天霹靂，讓我們簡直不知所措！父親中年轉業失敗，母親已是全家的基柱。如果有了萬一．．．．．．．．（明日待續） 由 發表於 June 21, 2003 11:25 PM | 引用迴響
