2003-12-16 17:13:13你家電錶跑太快轉載：新新聞周報/875期/胡晴舫看中國 私有權燃起人們的慾望去打造自己的小天地。在私人空間裡，應該是愛做什麼就做什麼，不是嗎？不！你的房東、鄰居會告誡你，什麼才是「比較正常的生活方式」。 高小姐住在一棟上海舊洋樓裡。入口是有點繡色的老木門，樓道布滿陳年灰塵，走路時要小心不要揚起太多塵土，不然呼吸會有點困難。聽說，文化大革命時，這間三層高的獨立小樓住進了至少十個家庭，公用廁所裡沒有燈泡，每戶人家使用洗手間時，都要帶著自己的燈泡，先旋進天花板的燈座，做該做的事情後，再把燈泡拔下來，跟著衛生紙一起帶走。 她的房間在三樓。地上舖著半個世紀前的木頭，洋鐵做的老式窗戶向著白楊樹，夏天在艷陽下綠油油閃著，冬天黃葉帶點憂愁輕輕落在窗台前。她每天起床都有種幸福的感覺。雖然水管有時會不通，水龍頭流出來的水有點味道，後來改裝的現代廚房小得很勉強，但她祇要腳踏著實木地板，看著屋內上海三○年代的懷舊陳設和窗外的上海舊社區風采，她就感受一股無法描述的浪漫。 冬天來了。上海又濕又冷，不似北京整座城市有中央供暖系統，上海必須仰賴各戶人家自行裝設的獨立空調設備。浪漫不能禦寒，高小姐必須搞一台像樣的空調機器。雖然上海不下雪，氣溫降到三度加上無止盡的寒冷冬雨也是常有的事，若沒有暖氣機、或不讓它二十四小時運轉，她肯定是活不過這個冬天的。 開始降溫的季節開始沒幾天，她的上海房東跑來敲她的門。「高小姐，妳是不是用很多電？」他問。她聳聳肩，沒錯，因為空調鎮日開著，當然耗電。不行啊，她的上海房東氣急敗壞地說，妳的鄰居看著妳的電錶像跑馬燈一樣快速轉著，把他們嚇壞了。 「有什麼好害怕的？我付我自己的電費啊。」她答，同時質疑她的鄰居為什麼要監視她的用電量；這，似乎，不太關他們的事情。 上海房東義正辭嚴地告誡她：「話不是這麼說。我們這裡，沒人這麼用電的。」她被正式地建議，應該在睡前一個小時打開空調，暖暖屋子，要上床前趕緊關掉，這樣可以省電。同時，這也是一種「比較正常的生活方式」。 我和她正在宜家家居城挑選地毯時，她告訴我上述的故事。周末的宜家家居幾乎無法走動，跟香港銅鑼灣街頭一樣擁擠，感覺像是整個上海市的人都湧進了這家店。自從中國政府放寬私人財產權和購屋貸款福利後，趕上中國經濟建設起飛，整個中國立刻變成一個大工地，到處都在蓋樓房，時時有人在交新屋，總是有朋友正裝修房子。家具城裡，一張張臉孔、一雙雙眼睛、一根根手指熱切地檢視這張桌子、摸觸那把沙發、挑剔著遠處的廚櫃。私有權燃起人們的慾望去打造自己的小天地。 經過了公領域就是一切的歷史階段，現在，祇要你付得起，你又可以添置你想要的流行霓裳，不必穿藍螞蟻制服；擁有你渴望的公寓，不必住人民公社；購買你喜歡的餐桌，不必跟其他人吃大鍋飯；然後，在你的私人空間裡，愛吃幾隻大閘蟹就吃幾隻大閘蟹、愛一天洗三次澡就洗三次澡、愛看多少DVD就看多少DVD、愛開多久暖氣就開多久暖氣。畢竟，我們這裡談的是私領域，不是嗎？ 我們手裡摸著一條白色厚棉地毯，進行著我們私人的討論。旁邊，一位四十多歲模樣的女士放下手上的床單，突然，彷彿認識了十年的朋友般親熱地擠到我的身邊，也執起地毯一角，跟著我們用手指頭摸索著質料。我們靜止。等她。過一會兒，她歎了口氣，下結論：「不好，這不吸水。最好不買。」 迴響
